Most of these are samples of Photoshop work from my time as a senior photo editor (and sometimes photo illustrator) at The Daily Beast digital news outlet. As a photo editor, my preference is to deliver the news with a more straight forward photojournalism approach. But the digital brand I worked for called for the occasional "splashy" image to grab the attention of audiences. Once in a while, it can be a creative exercise to break up the daily routine of just selecting and licensing images (which I love endlessly!). I must say, the generally left-leaning bias of the news outlet I worked for and Donald Trump's many expressions and gestures definitely gave me plenty of fodder for illustrations!
